Location and accessibility
Amber Hotel Vavřinec is located directly on the town square of Roudnice nad Labem, which lies 50km away from Prague, not far from the D8 motorway from Prague to Dresdem (Exit no. 3 Roudnice n/L). The bus station is approx 50m away from the hotel, while the train station is 250m away. The hotel is a recently reconstructed historical building.
Roudnice Castle
Today, the castle houses a military conservatory, for which reason the building is closed to the public. Remnants of the original castle can only be seen in the casemates in the north-western wing of castle today.
Mt. Říp
Mt. Říp stands in the middle of the lowlands between the Vltava, Elbe and Ohří rivers. It is 476m high. At the summit of Mt. Říp stands the Chapel of St. Jiří, a Roman rotunda with an apse from the 11th century. Today, there is a monument to the Czech state installed inside.
Bridge
A Gothic stone construction. It was built between 1333 and 1338 under the guidance of Vilém z Avignon and destroyed during the Thirty Years’ War. The current bridge is from the years 1906-1910.
